The technical info is: Tri X, pushed to ISO 1600, developed in Acufine. The textual boarder was added to the first print in black ink. This full frame 35 mm. image was captured in the late 1980's and is entitled "Lake Erie Sunset." This hand crafted image is printed, titled and signed by the artist. The actual image measures approximately 18.5 inches by 12.5 inches. Lake Erie has a reputation for spectacular sunsets and this is a very unusual moment, the mirror like lake illuminated under a Black sky. The air is particularly clear, the horizon relatively sharp. The dark strip under the crisp horizon clearly marks the deepest water and the shallower bottom is reflected below as it combines with the mouth of the river. There are only three boats on the glassy water, a freighter, a tiny speed boat and the tour boat "Good Times." The water looks like liquid silver. Notice the tiny light shinning in the light house, the shutter timed perfectly as the beam spun around. This image was captured from the roof of the artists studio in the late 1980s. "River Birds," - 16" x 20" Silver Gelatin Print This full frame image was captured in 1994 and is printed (by the artist) on double Ilford weight paper. The image size is approx. 18.5 inches by 12.75 inches. This dynamic print is bold and yet rich in subtle texture. The print has to be seen in person. We ask the artist about this image and he said, "I was in the flats (Cleveland) on the west bank of the Cuyahoga river. There were hundreds of gulls resting in the water, just at the base of the bridge. I had a 300 mm Nikon lens mounted on the tripod and was working on a full frame composition. As I squeezed off a few exposures I remember hoping the birds would take off together. Just at that instant, a loud noise on Whiskey Island startled them and they leaped out of the water, flapping wildly. I got off about a half dozen frames and knew I had something good.
